From November 21, the Cathay Group budget carrier will operate daily flights from Hong Kong to Penang.
Penang – located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia – is the airline's lone destination in Malaysia.
“We are delighted to launch a new route from Hong Kong to Penang, which not only marks a milestone of HK Express’ entry into the Malaysian market, but also our strategic deployment in connecting Hong Kong with the rest of Asia,” HK Express CEO Jeanette Mao said. “As a vibrant, cultural hub buzzing with energy, Penang will offer an unforgettable experience for travellers with its unique history and cuisine.”
HK Express will be the only budget airline currently operating flights on the Hong Kong-Penang route. Cathay Pacific currently operates daily flights between the two cities.
